Cathedrals of Polyphony

$18.00

Journey hundreds of years into the past to learn how the first composers started to layer music into complex musical structures that resembled the Medieval & Renaissance cathedrals of Europe. We’ll learn about the very first 5 composers of Western classical music, how the two essential musical ingredients of rhythm & pitch were developed into an intricate musical language that involved musical “spelling” and “grammar”, and how the Medieval & Renaissance Eras gave the world the foundation it needed for music to take off as a universal language.

Included in this 32 page digital download:

-Music History & Appreciation Guide that connects the dots between history, art, architecture and music

-Musical Details Checklist for each piece featured

-The Stories of 6 of the earliest composers in music history: Hildegard von Bingen, Leonin, Perotin, Guillaume du Fay, Thomas Tallis and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina

-Glossary and Pronunciation Guide

- Playlist featuring an hour + of sacred music of the late medieval and early Renaissance era, available on Youtube, Spotify and Apple Music
